» About the Agitator The Agitator is a bulletin for the student left, to help build a stronger, cohesive student left in a stronger, united student movement against neoliberalism, war and oppression. » History The Agitator was formed in late 2005 by the Carleton University International Socialists. Five issues were published over the span of a year and distributed at Carleton University and the University of Ottawa. The name comes from a revolutionary magazine launched by socialist students at the London School of Economics during the upheavals of the late 1960s. Chris Harman, an editor of the LSE Agitator, wrote a brilliant book The Fire Last Time on the upheavals of the 1960s and 1970s. Rage Against The Machine listed it as "recommended reading" in the album sleeve of Evil Empire. Read. Write. Resist. Another World Is Possible |
