Speaker: Isabelle Rowe-Codner
Since Stonewall, the transgender community has been a key player in LGBT rights movements, though the issue has been fraught with controversy and debate. What exactly do transgender rights look like? Can we accommodate this community in a capitalist society?
Whether you (think you) know the answers, or aren’t even sure where to start on this issue, join us for a discussion about the movement, the struggle, and the principles of transgender rights. We will start with a talk presented by Isabelle Rowe-Codner, where she will go into detail on the history of the LGBT rights movement, explain the politics behind it in regard to socialist ideals and present day liberal trends, and open discussion about what it will take to win real transgender liberation.
