Fundraiser for Socialist Worker

20 years ago, tens of thousands descended on the city of Seattle to protest the World Trade Organization (WTO). The WTO was about to institute a new set of global corporate rights policies that would be devistating for working people and the planet. But a huge coalition of environmentalists, trade unions and others protested and fought with police for 5 days to shut the meetings down in what became known as the “Battle of Seattle”. Join us to hear about this historic protest and the lessons it provides for activists today.
