LETTER
Regarding your article Anti-Cuts fight needs rank and file mobilization (April 2011):
Now that Harper has his majority, the assault against public and private sector workers can begin without opposition.
The jargon of deficit cutting, by implementing austerity measures while simultaneously lowering corporate taxes means that the workers, both public and private, will be paying to reduce the deficit which was greatly increased due to the bank and company bailouts during 2009.
The implementation of the "austerity measures approach" is now happening all over Europe with large mass rallies and protests responding to it.
Now that Harper has a majority, "hang on to your hats," because this corporate/financial capitalist approach will be coming here, without any formal political resistance, for the next four years.
