Fast food and retail workers—some of the lowest paid workers, with no benefits or job security—have been striking in many parts of the US over the past six months. A strike at Walmart on Black Friday—the day after US Thanksgiving—in November 2012 sparked a nationwide wave of resistance. Strikes among fast food workers in NY, Detroit, Chicago, St. Louis and Milwaukee have brought thousands to picket lines to demand a $15 wage and union representation. New grassroots organizations, like Fast Food Forward in NY and Fight for 15 in Chicago, are working with unions, workers and the community to build support for the fight. Come hear the story.
