Before Idle No More, before the West Coast Warriors and East Coast Warriors, before indigenous resistance at Oka, Gustafsen Lake and Ipperwash, stands the proud history of the Red Power Movement.
The presentation will explore the genesis of this movement of the 1960s/early 1970s, how it spread across North America, and how it was linked to other mass movements of its time. There are powerful lessons for all of us today.
