Imperialism and capitalist crisis: view from the global south

Sunday, July 10, 1pm EDT, 10am PDT

Speaker:
Baba Aye, Co-convener of the Coalition for Revolution (CORE), is a contributing editor of the Review of African Political Economy (ROAPE) and a member of the Socialist Workers & Youth League (SWL), Nigeria.

The climate crisis, the COVID pandemic and war are having devastating effects on the people of the global south. The ravages of imperialism only exacerbate the level of crisis and create ever more inequality. The war in Ukraine has unleashed a new round of inter-imperial rivalry which will only enflame global competition.

To understand the state of imperialism today, we need to understand its impacts around the world. Join our first of the summer socialist study series to discuss this topic with activist and scholar, Baba Aye.
