MARX IN SOHO performed by John Bell
Sunday December 11
11am Pacific, 2pm Eastern time
Marx in Soho, written by socialist historian and activist Howard Zinn, is a witty and insightful one-person “play on history” in which Karl Marx has agitated with the authorities of the afterlife for a chance to return and clear his name. Through a bureaucratic error, Marx returns to Soho in New York, rather than his old stomping ground in London. Marx's critique of capitalism 100 years after his birth shows how relevant his theories remain today.
Left JAB columnist John Bell premiered as Karl Marx at the millennial New Year's Eve in 1999. He will reprise his role as part live, part video from that performance 23 years ago. .
