Israel and the US have, once again, launched attacks against Iran in what Trump is calling a “major combat operation” aimed at regime change in the country.
The Israelis bombed a girls school in Minab where at least 50 students were killed and many more injured.
Despite the lofty rhetoric from Trump and Netanyahu that they are working to support the liberation of the Iranian people, this attack and the history of US violence in the region prove that they have no interest in liberation.
The only path to freedom for the Iranian people is through self-determination and independent struggle.
These attacks are unjustified and illegal. They are another proof that the greatest threat to world peace are the Americans and the Zionists.
The Iranian nuclear program is used to justify the bombing as it has been used as a convenient bogeyman for decades of imperial aggression against Iran.
The reality is the US and its proxy Israel want to wipe out the Iranian government because it refuses to accept US domination and is part of the rival imperial bloc that threatens US imperial rule.
Iran is allied with the United States' main target — China — seen by the US as the largest potential rival globally.
It is likely this war will escalate and Iran is targeting US military bases in the region.
Canadian Prime minister Mark Carney has, shamefully, announced full support for the US/Israeli aggression. The Canadian government remains steadfast in its support for US imperialism as it has for decades under both the Liberals and the Conservatives.
We condemn the attacks and call for an end to Canadian support for the brutal violence. We join with millions around the world who will be marching today to end the war.
