Sergei Eisenstein’s Battleship Potemkin is one of the most important films ever made. Released in 1925 it tells the story of the failed 1905 revolution from the point of view of the mutinous sailors of the Potemkin. Eisenstein challenged the conventional way of using cinema to tell a story and has influenced movie makers ever since.
