How do we stop climate chaos?
Public meeting
Sunday, August 20 | 1:00 pm edt | 10:00 am pdt
Trinity St Paul’s centre - 427 Bloor St west and on zoom
We are living in an age of climate catastrophe. The world is boiling with temperature records falling by the day. Floods, fires and soaring temperatures that are above the capacity for human existence are being registered across the globe.
And our political and business ‘leaders’ are stoking the flames while insisting on new fossil fuel development. They try to placate people with promises that technological advance will save us from the inferno despite the fact that these technologies are both unproven and unable to deal with the scale of the issue. All of this is being done to make sure that a small group of billionaires get richer while the people burn.
There is still time to slow the damage and mitigate some of the worst impacts of the crisis but the priorities of capitalism are pushing in the opposite direction. How do we stop the chaos?
Join us for this forum to discuss the prospects and strategies needed to end the destruction of the planet.
